In what has described as an honour well deserved, Babajide Kolade-Otitoju, editorial head of TVC News and arrowhead of arguably the best political programme on television – Journalists Hangout has been voted the Political Analyst of the Year at the 12th Nigerian Media Nite Out Award.
The colourful event which held at Airport Hotel, Ikeja on Sunday, September 23, 2018 has several journalists, celebrities, government functionaries and entertainment buffs in attendance.
A former editor of the PM NEWS and The News, Kolade-otitoju is arguably Nigeria’s most respected public affairs analyst whose influence, depth analysis and non-partisanship in political issues seem to have impressed the Nigerian viewing public.

When his name was announced, the journalist was almost lost in the sea of heads around him as fans and colleagues rushed to congratulate and embrace him.
Meanwhile another colleague, Ayodele Ezekiel Ozugbakun, who is also the anchorman of Journalists Hangout won the category of ‘Presenter of the Year’ while TVC beats Channels to the enviable award of TV station of the year.
Speaking after the award, the celebrated media man who was in the company of Gani Kayode Balogun Jr and other Journalists Hangout contributors enthused that “It really has been a year of multiple awards and recognition for me.”
“It was a celebration of excellence this evening as the team behind Journalists Hangout on TVC, as well as the Station itself, were honoured at the 12th Nigeria Media Nite-Out Awards. To cap it all, TVC was named the TV station of the year.”
