NottingHill
Carnival came alive again after a few years of
hiatus. It would be recalled the annual jamboree almost lost its glamour
in 2007 following violence among some participants. However, with the
influx of tourists and activities of young Londoners, it has started
regaining some of its lost glory.
As expected, this year witnessed active participation from some notable Nigerian youths such as ace

comedian, Gbenga Adeyinka 1; R n B singer, Honey B (KWAM 1 daughter) and indigenous groups representing Yoruba
and other socio-cultural bodies.

It was quite exciting! Tourists were captivated by the glitzy events and took endless pictures of the
carnival-trailer. Also most
of the other trailers with the dancers played Afro-beats tunes and naija
really represented, especially with ‘Oliver Twist’, ‘Chop my Money’,
and ‘Alhaji’ tunes. The crowd went nuts every time they played ‘Oliver
Twist’.
Not surprised because ‘Oliver Twist’ was a chart-topper out here
and in a lot of countries in Europe.
