Okada Riders Storm Lagos Roads In Protest

Hundreds of commercial motorcycle operators popularly known as Okada riders in Lagos this morning took to major streets and highways to protest against the Lagos new traffic laws and indiscriminate impounding of bikes all over the metropolis.

As part of the protest which seemed well coordinated by unions from several parks, the riders were seen in different parts of the state including ikorodu road, onipanu etc. Among other things, they urged government to revert the restriction order on their operations.

According to sources, the Lagos new traffic law severly hampers their operations, stopping them from making enough to survive on.
