Following what has been reported to be a loggerhead bewteen the Taraba State House of Assembly and the State’s Deputy Governor, SANI Abubakar, news has it that the latter has now been impeached.

According to relaible sources, the recent development has been seen as a climax to the perennial rift between the two.

It would be recalled that the Taraba State House of Assembly a week ago directed the state Chief Judge, Justice Josephine Tuktur, to immediately constitute an investigative panel.

The panel was saddled with the task of investigating the allegations of gross misconduct and abuse of office contained in the impeachment notice served him a fortnight ago.

The action itself came barely 24 hours after his name was deleted from the list of recipients for this year’s national honours where he was billed to receive the prestigious award of Officer of the Order of the Federal Republic (OFR).
