Redeemed Church ordains 7000 deacons


In what appears to be an unprecedented act in the history of the Church, the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has just ordained 7,000 deacons and deaconesses during its ongoing 60th Convention which started

According to NAN, the convention is being held at the Church headquarters at the
Redemption camp, KM 46, Lagos/Ibadan Expressway with the theme, “Come Up

In his welcome address, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the
General Overseer of the Church acknowledged the goodness of God on the
mission. He said that the convention was at the invitation of God to members of the church to behold Him, His power and His greatness.

“He is asking us to come up higher through the highway of holiness,
increased faith, purity and enlarged vision unto glorious
expectations,’’ he said.

Adeboye gave assurance that there was a place specially prepared for those who yielded to the invitation. He,
therefore, urged worshippers to passionately seek God by availing
themselves of the various seminars and plenary sessions slated for the

There was a heavy presence of men of the Federal Road
Safety Corps and other workers of the church around the venue to control
the traffic.

The week-long programme continues today with
the ordination of Assistant Pastors as well as seminars and plenary
