Kano Hisbah arrests non-fasting Muslims


No fewer than 20 persons have been arrested by Kano State Hisbah Board for deliberately
refusing to fast during the ongoing Ramadan period.

Commander General of the board told reporters thatthose arrested would be held in
detention for three days until they learn how to fast.

Personnel of the Hisbah Board have been conducting raids
around Kano city aimed at arresting Muslims who intentionally refused to
observe fasting since the month of Ramadan commenced almost 20days ago.
offenders who included women had been arrested in various hot spots
across the metropolis by the plain-clothed personnel of the Hisbah
PS: ***Seriously, I don’t know whether to laugh or cry. Last time I checked, I thought there is wha we call tolerance in religion. Haba! I should be able to decide whether I want to fast or not joo***
